Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and dependable individual to join Nanolive as a Cell Culture Laboratory Manager. In this key operational role, you will be responsible for the smooth functioning of our laboratory environment, ensuring that safety, quality, and logistics standards are upheld to support the needs of our scientific, production, and application teams. Beyond managing operations, you will also take an active role in planning and executing laboratory experiments. Your expertise will directly support the successful execution of research, development, and customer-related projects.


Key Responsibilities
Experimental and Lab Operations Management:
  • Plan and execute cell culture experiments to support the different ongoing projects and communicate results effectively to both internal teams and project partners.
  • Provide hands-on experimental support for internal teams, ensuring the timely and accurate generation of laboratory data and documenting results through clear, well-structured experimental reports.
  • Oversee the purchase, reception, storage, and tracking of lab consumables, biological material and reagents.
  • Guarantee that the lab complies with safety and quality standards (biological, chemical, and physical risks).
  • Maintain inventories and manage the logistics of internal material movement.
Cross-functional Support:
  • Support Production, R&D, and Field Application teams by providing access to material and lab resources.
  • Coordinate availability and proper handling of customer samples for internal projects.
  • Monitor scheduling and prioritization of experiments using internal and customer samples.
Quality and Compliance:
  • Ensure documentation of laboratory procedures and implementation of internal protocols.
  • Oversee lab safety compliance and legal requirements.
  • Support internal audits and preparation for external inspections.
Equipment and Facilities:
  • Oversee maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Schedule service interventions to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure responsible waste management and adherence to environmental safety standards.
Communication and Documentation:
  • Act as the internal point of contact for lab use and safety procedures.
  • Maintain logs of lab use, equipment interventions, and incidents.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees with lab-related training.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance lab efficiency and traceability.
  • Stay up to date on laboratory best practices and recommend innovations.
Skills and Qualifications
  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related scientific field, or CFC as biology lab technician with significant relevant experience.
  • Previous experience managing a laboratory environment or similar operational role.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and logistical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cell culture is preferred; Familiarity with working in controlled environments, including sterile conditions, and basic microscopy knowledge is considered a significant asset.
  • Fluency in French and English required; additional languages are a plus.
  • Valid Swiss work permit.
